Sugar Amethyst is a rarer type of Amethyst where a layer of tiny, sparkling micro-quartz crystals forms on the surface of the larger Amethyst points or clusters. This "sugar-like" or "galaxy druzy" coating is not a typical characteristic of most Amethyst. While Amethyst itself is abundant, the specific conditions required for this sugary druzy formation to occur naturally are less common.

Sugar Amethyst appears white when it contains a higher concentration of Milky Quartz or White Agate, which prevents the deep purple iron impurities from saturating the crystal. The "sugar" effect is created by tiny druzy crystals that scatter light across these pale surfaces, rather than allowing it to pass through & reveal deep colour. Essentially, the less iron present during the crystal's formation, the more the natural white host rock dominates the aesthetic
